Today's random post is brought to you by Winged1 Productions, a division of Dementia Masquerade.
Today I popped down to Red Rocks Community College to get me some classes......well I really didn't pop down there more like having to go over the river and through the woods. Took me 3 buses to get to the campus...or at least close to the campus.
I take the 52 downtown and I make a quick stop to put monies in the bank then make my way down to the other end of the 16th Street Mall in time to catch the 16. The 16 stops at every other block along Colfax...-sigh- I get to the park-n-ride only to see my next bus, the 17, pulling away. NOOOOOOO!!! I am a lot annoyed so I go see when the next one will arive and another 17 pulls up! The one I saw pulling away must have been going in the other direction.
I board the 17 and I sit where I can see in front and to the side of the bus. The last time I was at Red Rocks was a year or so ago and I went there in a car. I think I am close and I pull the cord and I get off and walk a little bit only to realize I am not as close as I thought I was. DAMN!
I look around and I start walking where I think I remember where the campus is. Nope. I end up on a high school campus (I think its associated with Red Rock) Some one comes up to me saying I am not supposed to be here. heh heh...yeah....my face is red as I say that I am looking for Red Rocks administrative building. Thankfuly the person does not seem annoyed and points me in the right direction.
I walk in that direction and I come over a hill (literally) and oh look there is is. I am relived.
I go into the building and I find the administrative offices, after passing it 2 times before asking someone. I talk to an adviser and I find out a ton of stuff! XD
Funny story about how I had to pull up my transcripts from AVC...oh the hoops I jumped through. First my old MyAVC password expired then I had to create a new one then I had to fill out 5 secret questions then the page timed out..twice and finally I am able to pull them up and the adviser is able to print them out. Now because the course numbers are different I had to explain that what level of all my classes I had taken.
After all is said and done he asks me if I am interested in persuing a degree from Regis University. I live a block and a half from the University (I used to ride my bike around their campus in the summer) if they had anything I wanted to take I would have gone there instead of going to Phoenix. I politly decline and tell him that I just need my basic college courses before I transfer.
That was fun too! At first we thought that the School of Architecture and Planning was in Denver...well it is, kind of. The Graduate program is in Denver the undergraduate (my current level) is in Boulder (great regional commuting...not cheap!)
BUT!!! I have most of my classes to transfer next fall....I just need to make sure I am at college level math to transfer. My adviser suggests I take the math part of the placement test...it has been 2 years since I took a math class...and go fucking figure I don't do so well! I am 26 frickin' years old I should NOT still be having text anxiety!!!! I studied too!!! T.T I will be going back next Tuesday and taking that test again. I NEED to test into Algebra!
I have plans and a life to attend to!!! I can not put my education off much longer!!
I will be signing up for my classes tomorrow.....I needed to get my online account activated and I need to see if I can spread out my classes (which is not a lot) so that I can still pay for my classes. Anyone willing and wanting to donate to my college fund is more than welcome to send me a check, you will get a spiffy thank you card in return!
Now those plans....yeah..plans *rubs hands together all sinister like* -clears throat-
I will be applying to Talisen, Frank Lloyd Wright's School of Architecture as well as preparing to transfer to CU Boulder should I not get into Talisen. I have full confidence in my ability to get into Talisen its my dream!!! Frank Lloyd Wright is my architecture idol! *stars in eyes*
Ah yes back to my story! I left the campus luckily finding the right bus stop this time. I decide I am going to take the 17 to the 44. The 17 takes a very interesting way of getting to where the 44 connects. LONG BUS RIDE IS LONG but interesting. Saw a TON of photo opertunities!! OMG!! YES!! I will soo be spending a day in downtown Golden..very soon! My doll will be going with me because well he will will!!!!
To sum up my day I say this...I left the house at 8:30am and got home at 3:50pm and spent 2 hours of that time at Red Rocks -__-;
Maybe next Tuesday I take the way RTD suggested to take to the college....we shall see.
So I am excited to be going to school this fall!! Its been a long time since I went to school...2 years! GAH! I hope I am still smart! I just wish I knew someone at the college....large groups of strangers still make me nervous and I am not that social...lets hope I can maybe make a friend or two, even if its just to have someone to talk to at the college at least I won't be alone.
Here is a pictures for you to enjoy!
Why yes it is C.C. eating pizza~ No one should look that sexy eating pizza! LOL
I got a picture text from my sister and I broke out in tears. Yeah tears just from a picture. I can not put into words how much I miss her! and frankly based on how unhappy and miserable I am here (my home state...I know not right) I miss her more. I seriously wish I could go back! GAH I'm too emotional sometimes but I thought I would share this here.
Until tomorrow!!!
