Tales of The Winged One: CAMPING!!!!

This past Memorial Day weekend I went camping with my mother, father, and the dogs Carl and Shinji!!!!
We went up to a campground in Fairplay, Colorado.

That one to be exact! XD
It was nice up there. There was still some hanging around is places.

Lelouch welcomes you to the mountains of Colorado....bring a coat.

5 minutes from our campsite was this small clearing. You can't see it in the picture but to my left is some snow.

Had to cross over this river to get to the campground.

The big river forked off to this small fast moving stream.

Shinji sniffing around the creek. He has so much fun camping. The white stuff is snow~

On Sunday I went for a hike!!

A 3 mile trail that gains 600 feet in elevation.

Above timberline lightening gets to the few trees willing to grow up there.

I made it to the top of the trail!

Going back down the same way we came. There was some snow we had to walk through, over and around in this case. Bob, my walking stick is buried half way up in the snow. This pile Shinji and I had to walk around. This is a low point in this pile of snow. The highest amount was up to my chest.

Going further down the trail we can walk through the snow.

Even further down the trail the snow gets less and less.

Almost back down Shinji and I go under a half fallen tree.

Back from our hike Shinji just conks out. Isn't he cute!

The days were nice and except for the wind, it was a little chilly.

The nights on the other hand were insanely cold. I thank the fire for its warmth.
