I sit there, alone waiting. The place is familiar though I do not know how I got there. I feel calm inside, as if this is nothing out of the ordinary. My surroundings blacken as I see shadows start to dance on the ground around me. I count 12 shadows yet I see not bodies. I feel my heart start to race as footsteps approach me from behind. Slow at first then faster and faster until I feel the tip of something sharp in my back. A pause then a familiar laugh as a cold blade enters my skin. The pain is all too familiar and I close my eyes tight but I am standing in front of my bathroom mirror in my apartment in Phoenix. He is behind with that grin on his face. I try to scream, closing my eyes again but I am back in that familiar dark place. He is now in front of me with that same grin. I look around to see the owners of the shadows, some look familiar while others do not. Suddenly there is a pain just above my left breast. I look down to see blood soaking into my shirt. He laughs. That terrible laugh I cannot stand. That laugh that has haunted my dreams for years. That laugh that tells me it’s not over yet.
“A fitting death for someone who betrays.”
I suddenly feel myself falling, falling, falling, falling, gone…
